Merging Customers with Duplicate Contact Point

At times, multiple customers with the same contact point ID can contact. This can be between two same or different customer types. For example, it can be between two individual customer or an individual and a corporate customer. In this case, when an activity is assigned, a notification can be seen in the bottom right corner of the Advisor Desktop with the following information:

  1. For similar customer type, the notification shows that a Duplicate customer record found, consider merging customer with a link to the Merge Customer window. When you click this link, the duplicate contact point is already present in the search results. From here you can merge the customers.
  2. For two different customer types, the notification shows that a Duplicate customer record found, please remove this contact point from the customer records with a link to the Merge Customer window. When you click this link, the duplicate contact point is already present in the search results. From here you can merge the customers.
To merge a duplicate customer:
  1. When an activity with a duplicate customer record is assigned, click the Merge Customer link given in the notification.

  2. In the Merge Customer window, the duplicate contact point is already present in the Result pane.

  3. In the Result pane, select the Merge Customer option.
