Previewing Attachments for Articles

You can view an article's attachments in the Attachments window. Additionally, you can download the attachments to see their details from this window.

To preview an attachment:
  1. In the Navigation Menu, browse to Authoring > Articles.

  2. From the Folders List, select a folder.

  3. From the Articles List, select the article for which you want to preview articles.

  4. In the Properties pane, click the Edit button_edit_article. button next to Attachments.

  5. In the Attachments window, click the Download  button. The attachment is downloaded on your local machine.

  6. Click the Close button.

Previewing Attachments on Portals

While viewing articles on portals, you can view the details of the attachments by downloading them. If the attachments are PDFs, you can preview them using the PDF viewer on the portal. The PDF viewer offers the following tools:

Download the attachment to your local device.

 New Tab 

Open the attachment in a new tab in the same browser.

 Toggle Sidebar

Use this option to show or hide the following options:

  1.  Show Thumbnails

  2.  Show Document Outline

  3.  Show Attachments

 Find in Document

Find keywords or phrases within the document. 

 Previous Page

Navigate to the previous page.

 Next Page

Move to the next page.

Page Number

Enter a page number to jump directly to it.

 Zoom Out

Decrease the text size.

 Zoom In

Increase the text size.

 Zoom

Set a specific zoom level for the text.

 Switch to Presentation Mode

Use this option to open the full screen mode. You can also use the shortcut key 'R' to change the orientation of the full screen mode. 

 Print

Print the attachment 

 Tools

  1.  Go to First Page

  2.  Go to Last Page

  3.  Text Selection Tool

  4.  Hand Tool

  5.  Vertical Scrolling

  6.  Horizontal Scrolling

  7.  Wrapped Scrolling

To preview attachments on portals:
  1. Sign in to the knowledge portal as a portal user or open the portal.
  2. Navigate to an article with attachments. 
  3. Click any attachment to download it.
  4. To preview a PDF attachment, select the attachment.
  5. The PDF viewer opens, allowing you to use various tools to enhance your viewing experience. You can also download the PDF from the viewer.
