About Portals
Portals allow you to publish selected portions of the knowledge base as portals on your intranet, extranet, or website. A portal is created and customized with the help of topics, a template, and various properties. It has two editions: an agent portal and a customer portal.
Elements of the Portal Home Page
To give you a feel of what the portal looks like, here is a wireframe of a typical home page.

Browse Topics: A hierarchical tree of knowledge base topics.

Topics: The various topics of the portal are displayed in separate squares. Each topic holds direct links to its articles and can be further expanded.

More Options: Contains links to various resources on the portal, including Bookmarks, Guided Help, Suggested Articles, and Recently Added Articles

Escalation Section: Add a "Contact Us" link to your portal to give users access to agents.
