Popular Articles List

To configure a popular articles list:

1. In the Navigation Menu, browse to Publishing > Portals.

2. On the Portals page, select the portal for which you want to set up popular articles.

3. On the Edit Portal page, go to the Access Methods tab.

4. Navigate to the Popular Articles List section and set the following:

   • Show Popular Articles List: By default, this option is enabled. If you want to disable it, select No.

   • Maximum Number of Popular Articles to Display (5-50): Specify how many popular articles you wish to display on the portal at once. The default value is 5. You can give a value between 5 and 50.

   • Force Selected Articles to the Top of the List: With this field, you can show selected articles at the top of the popular articles list. 

   • Force Selected Articles to the Bottom of the List: With this field, you can show selected articles at the bottom of the popular articles list.

   • Ranking Formula - Access Count Weight (0-100): Specify how much weight you want to give to the articles, on the basis of the number of times they are accessed. The default value is 10. You can give a value between 0 and 100. For example, let us say you give a value of 50. It means that 50 percent of the weight is given to the number of times the articles are accessed through this portal.

   • Ranking Formula - Timeframe (Days): Specify the number of days of data to be considered for generating the list. For example, if the value is 45 days, the frequency of article use, the rating given to the article by the author, and the customer feedback rating for the last 45 days are considered for generating the popular articles list. The default value is 30.

   

5. Click the Save button.
