Customizing the Welcome Banner
The welcome banner houses your announcement carousel and the search bar, provided it is not enabled in the header. The changes that you make can be viewed simultaneously while making these changes.
To customize the welcome banner :

In the Navigation Menu, browse to Publishing >Themes.

On the Themes page, navigate to the Custom Themes section and click the Edit button next to the theme you want to customize.

In the Themes workspace, navigate to Global > Welcome Banner and click the Expand button.

From the expanded menu, you can make the following changes:

Pick a banner look: You can select one of the following banner presets:

No Banner: Selecting this option disables the welcome banner.
The search bar can only be displayed in one location at a time. If it is enabled in the welcome banner, it cannot be displayed in the header. Similarly, if the search option is enabled in the header, presets containing the search bar will be unavailable.

Search Only: Selecting this option displays the search bar only in the banner.

Announcements Left or Announcements Right : Selecting this option only displays the Announcements carousel in the welcome banner on the left or the right side respectively.

Search + Announcements Side: Selecting this option displays the search bar and the announcements carousel side by side.

Search + Announcements Stack: Selecting this option displays the search bar stacked on top of the announcement carousel.

Custom Banner: Selecting this option allows you to choose from a select list of components to display in 2 columns. The options include Announcement carousel, Newly created, Required reading, Recently updated, Search bar, Static Content, Topic Highlights, and Trending articles. Search Bar Configuration: These settings are available only when a banner preset with search has been selected. You can make the following configurations:

Search Label Font Size: You can either type in or click the increment
and decrement
buttons to set the font size for the search label. The maximum value is 72 and the minimum value is 8 px. -
Show Topic Dropdown in Search Box: Click the Toggle button to enable the Topic Filter in the search bar.
- Keep Search Visible on Scroll: Click the Toggle button to make the search bar visible in the header even when the user scrolls down the page.
- Search Size: From the dropdown select the size of the search bar: Full Width, Large, Medium, or Small. This setting is visible only when Search + Announcements Stack or Side banner is selected.

Announcements Carousel Configuration: These settings are available only when a banner preset with the announcements carousel has been selected. You can make the following configurations:

Number of Articles to Display: You can either type in or click the increment
and decrement
buttons to set the number of articles you want to display in the carousel. The maximum value is 20 and the minimum value is 1. -
Show Article Description: Click the Toggle button to display the article description instead of the article content in the announcement carousel.

Background Style: To style the background of the carousel, you can choose one of the following options:
- Solid Color: Provide the background Color (hex code) and the Text Color.
- Gradient: Provide the Start Color, End Color, and the Text Color.
- Image: Drag and drop the image, click Browse, or provide the Image URL.

Show Topic Dropdown in Search Box: Click the Toggle button to enable the Topic Filter in the search bar.

Display: Make the following selections to style your welcome banner.

To style the background of the welcome banner, you can choose one of the following options:
- Solid Color: Provide the background Color.
- Gradient: You can either choose the Simple Gradient option and provide the Start Color, and End Color or select the Custom Gradient option and provide the CSS Gradient.
- Image: Drag and drop the image, click Browse, or provide the Image URL.

Text Color: Provide the color of the banner text.

Banner As Header Background: Enable this option to apply the display settings to the header.

Click the Save button.
Component Configurations
You can add and edit the properties for the following components to either one or both columns:
Announcements Carousel Configurations :

Number of Articles to Display: Select the number of articles you want to display.

Animation Interval (seconds): The interval after which the next article is displayed in the announcement carousel.

Show Last Modified Date: Enable to display the last modified date for the articles.

Show Article Description: Enable to display the article description instead of the article content.

Show Card View: Define whether the Announcement Carousel is displayed using a cad layout.

Announcements Size: From the dropdown, select the size of the announcement: Small, Medium, or Large.

Show Announcements Label: Enable to Display the "Announcements" label.

Show Article Image in Announcement block: Define how the article image is displayed in the carousel: None, Side or Background.

Background Style: To style the background of the welcome banner, you can choose one of the following options:

Solid Color: Provide the background Color.

Gradient: Provide the Start Color, and End Color.

Image: Drag and drop the image, click Browse, or provide the Image URL.

Text Color: Select the color of the carousel text.

Required Reading, Trending Articles, Newly Created Items, & Recently Updated Items List Configurations:

Number of Articles to Display: Select the number of articles you want to display.

Show Card View: Define whether the useful articles appear in a card layout.

Number of Columns: Number of columns in which you want to display the articles. This field is not available for Required Reading.

Show Title Border Bottom: Displays a border underneath the section title.

Enabling this option, provides you with an option to select which metadata information you want to display. You can add additional metadata fields, rearrange the sequence in which they appear and also delete the ones you do not want to display.
Topic Highlight Configurations:

Topic ID: Enter the Topic ID for the topic that you wish to highlight.

Sort Order: Specifies how the articles within thetopic is displayed: Default, Newest First, or Oldest First.

Number of Articles to Display: Enter the number of articles that you want to display in the topic highlight.

Number of Columns: Enter the number of columns in which the articles are displayed.

Background Color: Choose the color used in both light and dark themes. To do this, click the color picker and switch between tabs using the light mode and dark mode icons. After selection, the corresponding hex codes for both modes are displayed for each element.
Static Content:
To add your text replace the placeholder text within the HTML tags.
Search Bar

Show Search Label: Click the Toggle to display or hide the search label text.

Search Label Position: From the following available options, select the position of the search bar label: Top Left, Left, or Top Center.
