Creating Business Calendars

You can create business calendars for your department. Only one calendar can be active at one time. You can set calendars for all the days of the week, and the exception days, like holidays, weekends etc.

You need to create day labels before creating calendars.

To create a calendar:
  1. From the Navigation menu, browse to Business Rules > Business Calendars > Calendars.

  2. On the List page toolbar, click the New New Button button.

    You can create a maximum of 75 calendars in a department.

  3. On the Properties page, on the General tab, provide the following details:

    1. Name: Type a name for the calendar.

    2. Effective Start Date: Select the date on which the calendar becomes active. Two calendars in a department cannot have overlapping dates. Also, the start date should be greater than the current date.

    3. Effective End Date: Select the date on which the calendar becomes inactive. Two calendars in a department cannot have overlapping dates. Also, the end date should be greater than the start date. On the set end date, the calendar becomes inactive. Once a calendar becomes inactive, the system considers the agents' work time as 24*7*365, unless some other calendar becomes active automatically.

    4. Time Zone: The time zone selected for the department. This field is disabled. If you want to change the time zone for your department, you can do it by changing the Business calendar timezone setting.

    5. Description: Type a brief description.

  4. Go to the Normal Week tab, and select the day label to be used for each day of the week.

  5. Go to the Exception Day tab. click the Add Exceptions Day button. In the Add Exceptions Day window, specify the day labels to be used for exception days, like holidays, weekends, etc. Select the date on which there is some exception, and then select the day label to be used for that day.

The exception dates should be between the start date and the end date of the calendar.

  1. Click the Save button.
