Changing Article Template
Article templates are directly tied to article types, therefore, only the article templates related to the current article type are available.
When you change the template of an article, it overwrites all the content that is available in the Content pane of the article and replaces it with the content of the new article template. If you accidentally make this change, you can always revert to an older version of the article.
To change the article template:
-
In the Navigation Menu, browse to Authoring > Articles.
-
From the Folders List, select the folder.
-
From the Articles List, select the article for which you want to change the article template.
-
Click the Edit button to check out the article.
-
From the Content pane, click the Context Menu
button.
-
From the Context Menu dropdown, select Change Article Template.
-
The system is going to notify you that changing the article template is going to make you lose all the content and would overwrite existing changes made in the text editor field. Click Yes to open the Article Template window.
-
From the Article Template field, select the new article template. You can click the View button to preview the template.
-
Click Done.
