Changing Article Type

The type of an article determines the workflow that will be applied to the article. If you change the article type, and the new article type is associated with another workflow, then the workflow that applies to the article will also change.

To change the article type:
  1. In the Navigation Menu, browse to Authoring > Articles.

  2. From the Folders List, select a folder.

  3. From the Articles List, select the article for which you want to change the article type.

  4. Click the Edit button to check out the article.

  5. From the Content pane, click the Context Menu more button.

  6. From the Context Menu dropdown, select Change Article Type.

  7. The system is going to notify you that changing the article type can cause the article to go through a different Knowledge Workflow. Click Yes to open the Change Article Type window.

  8. From the Article Type field, select the new article type.

  9. Click Done. The change is saved and the new article type is displayed in the Article Type section in the Properties pane.
