Configuring Social Media Accounts for X

Before configuring an account for X in the application, an X account must be created and available. To complete the configuration process, the password of the X account should be configured.

X accounts configured here can be used for messaging accounts in Chat and Messaging. For more information, see Configuring X DM Accounts.

To receive X Direct Messages (DMs) as chats in the Advisor Desktop, you need to configure Chat and Messaging X accounts as configuring only the social media account for X, without including the chat accounts, will result in X DMs not being pulled as chats in the Advisor Desktop.

To configure a social media account for X:
  1. From the Partition and Departments dropdown menu, select a department.

  2. From the Navigation menu, browse to Apps > Social > Accounts.

  3. On the List page, select a pre-built X account, or click the New New Button button.

  4. On the Properties page, set the following:

    1. Name: Provide a name for the account.

    2. Description: Provide a brief description.

    3. Active: Click the Toggle button to set the account to active.

    4. Select a network to configure: Select X. This field is only enabled when creating a new account.

  5. Click the Connect with X button.

  6. On the X page that opens, provide the details of the X account to be connected and login. 

  7. Click the Authorize App button. 

  8. When the access is successfully granted, the X Auth Verifier is displayed. Copy the access key and return to the Administration Console. 

  9. Return to the Properties page and update the following fields:

    1. X Security PIN: Paste the copied X Auth Verifier.

  10. Click the Generate button and review the following fields:

    1. User ID: Automatically generates the X user ID that will be used to post messages to X. 

    Edit the X Account

  11. Click the Save button.
