Selecting Topics

Some things to note while selecting topics:

• Select topics from the list of available topics. You must select at least one topic. When a topic is selected, all its subtopics are also selected.

Only topics at the same level can be included. The system does not let you explicitly add a topic as well as one or more of its subtopics. If you want to exclude some of the subtopics of a topic, do not select the topic, choose from the subtopics instead.  

• Use the Move Up and Move Down buttons to set the order in which the topics are displayed on the portal. While using the eGain portal templates, the first five topics are included in the Highlighted Topics component.

• Selecting topics created from folders adds all published articles in the corresponding folders to the portal.

• All topics are automatically selected for use in the Master Portal and cannot be removed.
