Console Toolbar

The Console toolbar resides at the top of the Knowledge Console. It allows access to some frequent commands with a single click. 

The following table describes the function of the buttons on the Console toolbar:

 Global Search button

Search the console for objects such as article name, question name, etc. The search filters the results based on the values typed in. Selecting any of the results navigates directly to this item.

Department dropdown

 

From the dropdown menu, users can select the department or partition to which they have access. If the user only has access to one department, only that department is visible here.

New button

Clicking this allows authors to immediately create an article. You can also create various other objects by clicking the dropdown button next to it. The various objects that can be created from here are:
 

  1. Case Base

  2. Folder

  3. Quick Access List

  4. Portal

  5. Topic

  6. Workflow

  7. Compliance Policy

  8. Article Type

change lang Change Language: Knowledge button

Change the language for articles and folder content if the system is configured for more than one language.

Note: The visibility of this button in the Console Toolbar is dependent upon the screen resolution. With larger screen resolutions, this button is placed in the User Options menu.

Messages button Notification button

View any system notifications and open the Messages window.

In this window, users can read messages sent by other users. Users can also send messages to other users or to external email addresses.

Help button Help button

Open the online help. The page of the help that is opened depends on the page or window that is currently displayed in the console. 

Profile button Profile Image button

Displays the user profile photo. Click this button to upload a new picture for the profile.

User Options menu
