Managing Regulatory Areas
A regulatory area is a named set of regulators and obligations. A Knowledge Insights job that includes the Regulatory Compliance Check insight checks its articles against one regulatory area, and flags the obligations that each article does not address.
Each regulator, such as the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), or the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), is organized into parts and rules. Each rule contains one or more obligations. When you create a regulatory area, you select the regulators, parts, or individual rules to include.
Regulatory Areas List
The Regulatory Areas tab lists all regulatory areas in your partition. The table includes the following columns:
-
Regulatory Area: The area name. The default area displays the Default tag.
-
Description: An optional description of the area.
-
Regulators: The regulators included in the area, with the number of obligations included from each.
-
Obligations: The total number of obligations in the area.
Regulatory Area Actions
Select the Options (...) menu on an area to access the following actions:
-
Edit: Change the name, description, and the obligations that Knowledge Insights jobs check articles for.
-
Duplicate: Create a copy of the area.
-
Delete: Permanently remove the area.
The regulators and rules selected for a job are saved with that job when it is created. Later changes to a regulatory area do not change existing jobs.
