Creating Departments

Only a partition administrator can create or copy departments.

A department can be created in two ways:

To create a department:
  1. From the Partition and Departments dropdown menu, go to the partition space.

  2. In the Navigation menu, browse to Departments > Departments.

  3. On the List page toolbar, click the New New Button button.

  4. On the Properties page, on the General tab, provide a name and description for the department.

    The following characters are not allowed in the name: ~ ` ! # $ % ^ * = ( ) [ ] ; : ' " | < > , / ? + \{ \}

  5. On the Sharing tab, select departments and specify if you want to share activities and chat transcripts with the selected departments. For details, see Sharing Department Resources.

  6. Click the Save button.

  7. On the Permissions tab, assign permissions to the users and user groups to Own, View, Edit, and Administer the department that you have created.
