About the Recycle Bin

The Recycle Bin feature in the Knowledge Console helps knowledge managers avoid accidental or unintended loss of valuable articles and folders. Previously, when content was deleted, it was permanently removed, which risked losing critical knowledge and breaking content links. The Recycle Bin solves this by temporarily storing deleted articles and folders for 90 days. During this period, authorized users can restore items themselves without needing support, which reduces disruption, protects knowledge integrity, and improves operational efficiency.

Only articles and folder objects can be recycled. Other knowledge objects are excluded. 

Prerequisites

Only users with the Knowledge Manager role and the Knowledge + AI license can access and restore items, as the Restore from Recycle Bin action is implicitly assigned to the Knowledge Manager role. It is important to ensure the right users have this role and license assigned. For more information on how to create users, see the Administration Console Help.
